Review: Because Of Low (Sea Breeze #2) by Abbi Glines

Genre: Mature YA contemporary romance
Publication date: February 2012
Read: September 2014
Pages: 290
Rating:

Summary:
In my debut novel, Breathe, Sadie may have fallen in love with the teen rock star, Jax Stone, but readers fell head over heels for Marcus Hardy. This is his story…

Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.
Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but he’s still under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice.

My review:
"Listen to me. I'm in love with you. Mad crazy in love with you. I'm not going anywhere. Ever. You can't get rid of me."
Marcus Hardy is the kind of man that every girl like Willow deserves. He's rich but he doesn't show that off. He's a mama's boy, he's a very caring brother and he can make you feel special with his words and actions. Who doesn't love him?
"I'll spend the rest of my life proving it to you."
If you have read my review on "Breathe" , I mentioned that I loved Marcus more than Jax. I'm so glad he got his happy ending because I was really upset when he was heartbroken and hurt. Of course, he's so different from his friends and I love guys like him. His friends seemed like the kind of guys you don't want to mess around with. Well...In my opinion.

As of Willow "Low", I loved her from the start. I can imagine she looks really beautiful and she and Marcus match. I didn't really understand her relationship with Cage and I didn't know if she loved him and wants to marry him or it was just some kind of joke. It was confusing at the beginning but I understood afterwards. I was just confused as Marcus was.

Cage was really kind and caring when it comes to Low. If he wasn't acting like that with her, I would've feel really disgusted by what he does. Well...I was still disgusted even though he was sweet with Willow. Anyone would be, I can't blame them. I never imagined him being in a serious relationship with Low. I always saw him as a big brother to her and I was waiting till Marcus realize that Low doesn't love Cage like she loves him.

I really hate Willow's sister! I couldn't stand her. The whole time I wanted to pull her hair and slap her face. She's such a "B". However, I loved her daughter Larissa. She was so adorable and how she calls Marcus "Martus" was so damn cute! When she said the "Shit" word in front of Marcus, I burst out laughing at his reaction. It was pretty sweet when Marcus managed to teach her to say Skittles instead.

Lastly, I really enjoyed this way much more than the first book. I was really happy with the ending. I was actually glad there was no love triangle in this book. Cage does't count. He's just a best friend to Willow from the beginning.

I can't wait to hear from these two in the next books of the Sea Breeze series.  :)
